The Occupational Therapists came around today and showed me how to use
the wheelchair, and adjusted it to keep the right foot elevated and in
position. So now I can at least get about the ward and practise with it.
I haven't taken up this opportunity yet. Surprisingly, it's not quite
filling me with the veritable dripping sense of intrepid exploration and
anticipation you might expect from seeing a bunch of other sick and broken people...
Boy, do these drugs make you a miserable sarcastic f*cker :-) Actually I'm quite looking
forward to seeing the day room--it's got a great panoramic view so
everyone's said. And I can do some tricep dips and L-sits in the chair...
