Gabi: I think it's straightforward Scotchlite from the makers of various types of "sellotape". Any bike shop ought to sell it.

Re clips versus cages on pedals. If you have bad knee/s go for latter, because they allow for movement. With clips the bike has to be adjusted v accurately for leg length etc so that knees not strained, and therefore the frame size must be spot on. Still possible to wear bike shoes and therefore get advantage of solid sole with non-clips.
