This X10.com cam is pointing out of my office window, hence the reflections of the fluoro lights at night. The office I used to work at in Pacific Grove on Central Ave, at the edge of Monterey and has a beautiful view across the bay (which you can't really see at the camera's elevation) toward the mountains. The best time to catch the view of the sunrise is around ~6am PST.
The camera has a pan & tilt feature too but I haven't figured out
how to get that controllable on the Web yet. Heck, I haven't even figured out
how to get the camera capture software to run on a non-Windows machine
:-)
.
It's a pity the image quality sucks so badly. Despite having tweaked the contrast & brightness settings, on an OK day it looks like a 19th century London "pea-souper". Hmm, $50 camera, maybe that's it...
This camera is now offline since I don't work there any longer. The remotely controlled pan & tilt system is a good one, it just needs a decent camera before I'm motivated to reconnect it.
For a less sucking picture, check out a panorama taken outside my office with a real camera, or some pics from my wrist camera.
The latest pic on its own is here.
